There’s a new tribute to Betty White in town, but this one isn’t just about honoring Betty…it’s about promoting the cause that matters most to her.
Corie Mattie is responsible for the new mural that has been installed on Los Angeles’ famous Melrose Ave. She says the piece took her about 15 hours and understands the mission statement… “Be more like Betty.”
Even cooler is the fact that it has a way for you to do just that.
Corie added a QR code to the mural that fans can scan to donate directly to wagmorpets…an organization supporting dog rescue. She tells us, Betty “loves animals so I thought it would be a good idea if people wanted to pose in front of her, it will go straight to [the] non-profit.”
The artist just thought the tribute was the perfect gift for Betty… who has donated and supported animal rescues for years. Corie’s mural is part of a movement Betty fans started online with the #BettyWhiteChallenge.
The hashtag encourages people to donate to their local animal shelters and shelters.

As for the mural itself… Mattie told us she thinks Betty is the epitome of a “perfect human” who was way ahead of her time in promoting a more inclusive world . She says that’s why she included the phrase, “Be more like Betty.”
Good advice for all of us.
