DOG RESCUE CLIFF: Dog rescued from Fountain Creek cliff in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KDVR) — An adorable puppy was rescued from a cliff on Fountain Creek last week by local animal law enforcement.

FTA Officers Barker and Johnson were called when a dog was allegedly pinned on a cliff off Fountain Creek on Wednesday afternoon. The dog was stuck on a ledge about 50 feet above the creek. Officers were able to locate a way to reach the stranded animal.

With the help of a nearby owner who loaned mountaineering gear, Barker was able to anchor himself to a wooden post and repel the dog. Johnson lowered a pole to help secure the pup and lift him into Officer Barker’s arms.

Once the dog was brought to safety, officers identified her as “Jessie Lee” from her microchip and name tag. Jessie Lee was then taken to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, where her concerned owners were contacted /

Jessie Lee’s owners said they had been looking for her for two weeks and couldn’t have been happier to hear she was alive and well. They came for her the next morning, giving this story a happy ending.
