Caesar is a 3-year-old Shar Pei mix who had a rough start in life – but now, after being cared for in a shelter, he’s ready to love and trust again and find his home forever.

Elayne from K9 Dog Rescue in Mandurah says that when Caesar arrived at the shelter he was a little nervous.

“Caesar was skin on his bones when he got to K9,” Elayne said.

“He can be a little nervous when he meets new people for the first time, especially men – but with a nice, calm introduction, he starts to open up to people.

“Once he trusts you, he is the most affectionate, affectionate dog who just wants to sit next to you and give you a kiss.”

Elayne said Caesar did his tests well with cats, but needed continued work on his socialization with other dogs.

“At this point, he’s looking for a single dog home because he’s having trouble sharing toys and treats with other dogs.”

Caesar responded well to the training and Elayne said he would benefit from further training.

“With his breed, he has allergies and needs to have his ears cleaned frequently, but he is a very good boy who receives ear drops.”
