National Dog Show 2022 – How to watch this Thanksgiving

November is slowly our calendars are approaching, which means it’s almost time for our favorite holiday tradition: the National Dog Show!

It’s true! Prepare yourself for a big round of “paws” 😂 because they are the cutest puppies in town (apart from Ree’s basset hounds, of course!). The show, which airs on Thanksgiving Day, is back for 2022, and we couldn’t be more excited.

So while you’re looking forward to your delicious Thanksgiving dinner, you can pass the time by watching the best of the best (AKA: Top 200 Dogs) in action.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s National Dog Show, including how to watch from home, buy tickets and everything to expect.

What time is the National Thanksgiving Dog Show?

It might seem obvious, but Thanksgiving *always* happens on the fourth Thursday in November, so in 2022 it will be Thursday, November 24. That being said, the National Dog Show is a Thanksgiving tradition (for over 20 years) and will air on Thanksgiving Day. It is presented by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia and licensed by the American Kennel Club. It airs on NBC at noon in all time zones, right after Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Where can I watch the show?

You can watch the National Dog Show 2022 on NBC, but you can also stream it on the NBC website and other streaming apps (like Hulu Live and Youtube TV). If you have a mobile device or other applicable devices, you can stream the show on the NBC app.

How to buy tickets?

It is important to know that the show does not take place on the day of its broadcast! Instead, the show is being filmed before Thanksgiving, and this year it will take place November 19-20. The contest takes place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania, and admission is available to anyone with a ticket. Expect to see 2,000 participating dogs, representing around 100 dog breeds.

Tickets are on sale now for November 19 and 20. You can buy tickets on the National Dog Show official website. Tickets are just $16 for adults, $7 for kids 4-11, and free admission for kids three and under.

A Scottish Deerhound, named Claire, won Best In Show at the 2021 National Dog Show. I can’t wait to see this year’s winner!
