A DOG rescue charity runs out of space to accommodate unwanted dogs and is asking residents to take over rescue dogs.
Phoenix Dog Rescue, based at Rose Tree Kennels in Penketh, has been around since 2008.
They are now full and have no more space to accommodate more dogs despite receiving calls and emails to accommodate more dogs.
“It’s really sad,” said Jess Mulligan, administrator.
“People are already saying Warrington’s animal welfare is complete, so they’re coming to us. There isn’t much we can do other than try to find homes for those who can be relocated.
“If you are thinking of having a dog, why not turn to a rescue dog. They have so much love to give and it’s so rewarding to watch them develop.
So it’s only fair that we let you meet their dogs.
How Phoenix Dog Rescue describes its dogs available for rescue and how to save them:
Our nervous boy Paco is looking for his forever home. It is a medium-sized crossbreed of around three to four years old and native to Romania.
He is a super affectionate and loving boy.
Paco is a special boy, it can take time and a lot of patience, but when he trusts you he really is the cutest boy.
Lola is an eight year old Bulldog, she is super nice and loves stories. She loves nothing more than a good stomach scratch!
It is clean and is not destructive when left.
Bruno is super nice and will be the perfect addition to someone’s life.
He is an energetic and playful boy, so an active house would be preferable
Bruno is good with kids, just tall and bouncy, so around 10 and up just for his new home.
Tootsie is looking for his forever home.
It is a large cross breed from Romania and is around three or four years old.
It would suit an experienced family who will have the patience to let it come out of its shell. She is very affectionate but still very shy until she gets to know you.
Tootsie is a lovable girl, with a lot of love to give once she is confident with you.
Alaya is a tall cross from Romania and she is around 7 years old. Alaya is a super friendly girl who absolutely adores people
She would work well with someone who is home a lot – Bernie worked really hard to make Alaya happy when she left and did a fabulous job. But Alaya still enjoys being in your company.
At first Alaya was very scared of the leader but the progress she has made since being with Bernie is great, now she likes to walk.
