Rotary Fun Dog Show in Portland raises £1,000 for children


A day of tail wagging at a family dog ​​show raised nearly £1,000 to support youngsters.

The Rotary Fun Dog Show was held at Southwell Business Park in Portland and featured 27 dogs many of which participated in multiple events. He has raised nearly £1,000 to support children on the island.

The day had stalls and classes featuring from the waggiest tail to the best golden oldie with all races welcome.

The Waggiest tail had 15 entrants and was won by Cooper with owner Debbie Cain; second place went to Romeo with owner Daniel Lees, third place to Jasper with owner Dick Pearce.

Second class was the best looking dog with first place taken by Buddy with owner Oscar Thomas; second place went to Ozzy with owner Darren Johnston; third place to Frank with owner Danielle Randall.

Prettiest Bitch had 19 entries and was won by Misty with owner Lindi Bailey-Hill; second place at Lyla with owner Keith Barnard-Jones; third place to Lucy with owner Sarah Rossiter.

The happiest smile was fourth class, which was won by Inky with owners Ruby and Lily Hope; second place to Luna with owner Kim Aplin; third place went to Apple with owner Anita Kinnock.

Class Five was the best heartwarming rescue story; first place went to Sesame with owner Lyn Jacobs, second place went to Domino with owner Carly Allen, third place was tied between Teresa Belton’s dogs Chip and Bella.

Best Golden Oldie for puppies over 10 was won by Bella with owner Katie Lolley; second place won by Luna with owner Juliette Stevens; third place at Albie with owner Kathryn Sandford.

The coolest puppy for puppies under one year old was won by Harper with owner Jude Barden-Lees; second place to Lexi and owner Jim Hill; third place at Denley with owner Becky Matthews.

The final class was Best Trick and was won by Ozzy with owner Darren Johnston; second place went to Lenny with owner Kaz (Kat) Lockduart; third place to Joe with owner Katie Lolley.
