Vote for UK’s favorite dog breed as 10 are relegated in final week of competition

Don’t miss your chance to vote for the UK’s favorite dog after 10 more breeds have been taken out of the competition.

We need your votes to make sure your favorite breed moves up the leaderboard before the polls close on Saturday August 14th.

Thousands of votes have been cast since the poll was launched by our sister site TeamDogs, in collaboration with Pooch & Mutt, with dog owners across the country defending their favorite breeds.

Every Friday, the 10 least popular breeds in the “dog room” section of the leaderboard are relegated from the competition.

Those who were eliminated this morning were the Corgi, Toy Poodle, Cavachon, American Bulldog, Tibetan Terrier, Lhasa Apso, Poochon, Bichon Frize, Dobermann and Pomeranian.

Dog lovers across the country have shown their support for their favorite breeds.

Sarah Davies commented on Facebook: “Work cockers are adorable, although I’m biased! Here’s mine, Arlo.”

Sheryl Cunliffe advocates for German Shepherds. She wrote: “Belle and I are counting on GSD to the end!”

Anthony Van Der Seen supports the current leader, the Staffordshire Bull Terriers. He said: “The staff are obviously the best ‘British’ breed.”

Earlier this week, three new breeds were added to the contest after readers were asked to lobby for those they felt should be included. These were the Bedlington Terrier, the Great Dane and the Samoyed.
