Warrior Dog Rescue Receives Donation

Thanks to Caribou Coffee and the Vikings Purple Pups partnership, Warrior Dog Rescue will be able to complete additional projects at The Dog House facilities and better care for these special animals.

Throughout the 2021 season, Caribou has pledged to donate 25 cents for every free “puppy cut” added to orders. Thanks to a generous donation of $5,000 from Caribou Coffee and an additional donation from the Vikings, Warrior Dog Rescue will receive $7,500 to continue its mission.

“There are so many different expenses you run into. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All of our checks, all of our supplies, our food — everything — comes from donations. adoption help offset that little,” Bakken explained. “But we have dogs that with their health we could spend $3,000 to $5,000 on…you’d think there would be a bit of a surplus, but This is not the case. Everything is used for verification of these dogs.

“The gift [from Caribou] will go to the establishment [to complete] lots of projects to be able to save more dogs,” Bakken added.

Ultimately, it’s about making a difference in a puppy’s life.

“Someone has to do something for them. We have to defend these dogs. If we don’t, who will?” said Bakken.
